DIY’s content, incentives, and community are designed to help kids explore interests, curiosities, and cultures. There are 3 distinct ways in which DIY helps kids learn and develop:
Learning by watching:
Every kid on DIY has access to over 500 hours of DIY videos, courses, and tutorials. The videos are short and deliver quick lessons across 150 interests like painting, gaming, recycling, vlogging, farming, digital art, and more. Kids can watch these videos and learn at their own pace, in their own time.
Learning by doing:
Videos are linked to challenges or projects that kids can try. For every project they complete and post on DIY, they earn skill badges, XPs, and Gems. These challenges give them real world, hands-on experiences and a sense of accomplishment every time they try something new.
Learning from each other:
DIY is a global community with kids from over 170 countries. Each kid brings their own unique experiences and perspectives to interactions, making DIY a melting pot of culture. To enable collaboration and positive interactions, we offer kids the chance to join interest-based clubs, chat on forums, and connect during live workshops. We also help kids teach each other, by helping them set up their own challenges and host their own live workshops.
